Andre Bamidele – Senior Software Engineer

Andre graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2020 with a First-Class MPhys in Theoretical Physics, where he developed a strong foundation in mathematical modelling, computational methods, and analytical problem-solving. His interest in software engineering began during a placement year at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) in Harwell, Oxfordshire. Working in a multidisciplinary research environment, he contributed to software supporting large-scale scientific experiments and data analysis, gaining experience with collaborative development practices and the challenges of building reliable tools for researchers.

Following graduation, Andre has worked in a range of roles as a software engineer operating at the intersection of science, technology, and software development, with a particular focus on Python. His experience spans several technical domains, including writing software for scientific spectrometers, developing tools for quantum computing applications, working on low-level systems related to USB retimers, and building modern web-based technologies. Across these areas, he focuses on translating complex scientific and engineering requirements into robust, maintainable software, collaborating closely with scientists, engineers, and technical teams to deliver solutions that support research, hardware integration, and data-driven workflows.
