Daniel Warne – Software Engineer

Daniel joined FIRMA Engineering in August 2026 after graduating from the University of Sheffield with BSc (Hons) Computer Science with a Year in Industry. He spent his year in industry working for Edwards Vacuum as part of the Software and Electronics R&D team, working on projects spanning a range of technologies at the intersection of Engineering and Software Development. These projects included developing software for on-board temperature sensor devices, developing a mobile app to communicate with these sensor devices, and an application that allowed for the remote automated tuning of a PID temperature control system. Daniel’s final year dissertation project was centred around developing an automatic timetable generation Python web application for Sheffield Music Academy, this app allowed them to speed up admin processes that had previously been completed manually.

Daniel will use this previous experience across the variety of software-based tasks he will undertake at FIRMA, helping the business to achieve success in its projects.
