FIRMA Engineering has successfully overseen critical work for Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) at Sizewell A, using the FIRMArm Mk2 to assay objects within a MAGNOX swarf storage vessel.
NRS required detailed information on several objects inside the vessel, including radiation being emitted and the corresponding levels.
The FIRMArm Mk2 was deployed effectively, carrying both a radiation monitor and a camera to survey the bags of interest.
The operation was carried out smoothly, with accurate readings taken and the arm safely retracted.
This successful deployment not only reinforces the FIRMArm’s reputation as a reliable and effective tool for nuclear decommissioning projects, but also highlights FIRMA’s engineering expertise, demonstrating their ability to develop innovative and effective solutions to unique challenges within the nuclear industry.
