FIRMArm Specifications
The Flexible Interchangeable Reconfigurable Mechanical Arm (FIRMArm) is a modular equipment deployment device to deliver payloads of up to 40lb. to locations that currently cannot be accessed or more accurately and repeatably reach difficult to access areas. The FIRMArm has been designed for the nuclear decommissioning industry but has a wide scope of uses. The arm itself has a ø2in. hole at its centre for routing cables and tubing, it attaches end effectors that can be tailored to customer requirements, i.e., Inspection Cameras, Radiation Sensors, 3D Scanners, Remote Sealing with Molten Metal, Waterjet, Swabbing/sampling etc. Designed to access a facility through a ø5.9in. port. It has a range of up to 33ft. from the entry point. The arm has a wide range of motion once deployed into a facility. The deployment rig and arm break down into modular sub-assemblies which are less than 44lb. and is quickly/easily assembled, even when wearing full protective clothing.
